Makers Series

Each year, 59E59 Theaters grants space to two exceptional BIPOC theatre companies with 5 weeks in Theater C to rehearse and premiere a new work. Makers Series Companies will receive our *All-Inclusive licensing package: 

  • 2-3 weeks rehearsal space in Theater C
  • 2-3 weeks for public performances (minimum of 16 performances)
  • 100% net box office
  • Technical consultation, use of house inventory of sound and lighting equipment, and use of rep lighting plot
  • Marketing and PR Package valued at $10k
  • Includes professional publicist, graphic designer, marketing team to create a bespoke graphics package and promotions campaign for your show.

Noor Theatre (February)
Noor Theatre is an Obie-winning company dedicated to supporting, developing and producing the work of theatre artists of Middle Eastern descent.
Our programming supports work at different stages of development, whether early drafts of new plays or world premiere productions. Through our Highlight Reading Series, Co-presentation Partnerships with universities and other organizations, and Premiere Productions or 48 Hour Forum, we aim to create exceptional work that transcends cultural boundaries and speaks to all people. Noor Theatre is a Company-In-Residence at New York Theatre Workshop and a member of Theatre Row’s Inaugural Kitchen Sink Residency.

LatinX Playwrights Circle (August)
We aim to build a network of LatinX Playwrights nationwide in order to promote, develop and elevate their work while making their plays accessible to theater makers looking to find the next generation of American Storytellers.
