Matt Leazer (Playwright/Performer) is an actor, writer, and comedian. A graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, where he trained in the Meisner technique for two years. Soon after he began performing in one of New York’s longest running sketch shows, Fresh Out the Box, which he now helps produce monthly shows of, at The Player’s Theatre. He also founded the production company, The Reading Playhouse, alongside Alessia Falvo, which produced multiple plays, including Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Waiting for Godot, and The House of Bernarda Alba. Most notably the large-scale production of Waiting for Lefty at the Great Gatsby Space under the Central Park Hotel. He has also appeared in an adaptation of LEAR, directed by Timothy Stickney, ss well as a musical demonstration, Stoop Songs, curated and directed by Sandy Faison and Ben Hartley. When he is not performing he is writing poems in the park, providing impromptu harmonica concerts, or wandering the halls of the Met. Matt is extremely excited to bring The Show to 59E59, Edinburgh Fringe, and beyond. With the ultimate goal of creating opportunities for as many young artists to create, build, and spread joy.

MJ Hughes (Playwright/Performer) is a Kentucky-born singer-songwriter, pianist, and theater performer. MJ completed her Bachelor of Music in Piano and Vocal Music Education at Western Kentucky University. She then worked as resident music director and private studio teacher for BGOnStage! before opening her own private studio in Kentucky where she continued her studies in voice pedagogy and associate teaching for Phonation Co. After completing nearly two years as a dueling and solo piano bar singer for Holland America Cruise Line, MJ returned to New York City where she works currently as a theater performer, private voice and piano teacher, and singing piano bar entertainer. Most notably, MJ just completed her first session with Broadway Weekends teaching voice alongside Broadway star, Jeanna de Waal. Other recent performances include her debut in the New York Theater Festival in Two Pink Lines the Play by Caitlin LeBarge and the staged reading of the developing, original musical 20 Seconds by Tom Sweitzer and Kyle Boardman. MJ is thrilled to be a part of The Show as a songstress, comedienne, and co-writer.
