featuring Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford
Trip through Gretchen Cryer (bookwriter/lyricist) and Nancy Ford's (composer) professional and personal lives. With a relationship that spans four decades, musical theater team Cryer and Ford have been together longer than most marriages. From their undergrad years at DuPauw University, through children and marriages, and professional successes on and Off Broadway, Cryer and Ford mine the hits (and a few of the misses!) that have made them musical theater's most successful and enduring female writing teams.
The songwriting team is most probably best known for their earlier cabaret show 'I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road' which opened at the Public's Anspacher Theatre in 1978 before moving to The Circle in the Square/Downtown for a three-year run.
Their are currently represented off-Broadway by their children's musicalĀ Anne of Green Gables, based on Lucy Maud Montgomery's novel, and currently being presented by TheatreworksUSA at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
